While there are plenty of St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at local bars and restaurants, unless I’m mistaken, the closest parades are in Baltimore or Annapolis (but Annapolis had theirs last week).
So, if you want see a parade, head up to Baltimore on Sunday. 🍀🍀🍀🍀

Zum Bus Drivers Unionize 🚌
As a parent school aged children, the transition to Zum Transportation for our schools was a disaster that first year. Thankfully, it’s improved a lot since then (we no longer wonder if the bus will miss our stop). The Zum drivers have voted to unionize and join Teamsters Local 570 - I wonder what effect this will have on transportation services as they negotiate a contract.

Burtonsville Chipotle Opening Tomorrow 3/14 🌯
Yep yep, according to the MoCoShow, the Chipotle in the Burtonsville Crossing shopping center will open at 10:45am on Friday. Love that the shopping center continues it’s glow up!
10,250 Homes Added to Curbside Food Scrap Program 🥗
If you live in Jessup, Long Reach, or Mt. Hebron, starting in April you’ll be able to “recycle” food scraps via the green bin program! You can sign up here to get one.
HoCo 2025 Residents’ Budget Hearing 3/20 💻
County Executive Calvin Ball will hold his 2nd Residents’ Budgeting Hearing for 2026 on March 20th at 6pm. You can attend virtually via Webex using webinar number 2313 908 0833 and the password “Password”. More details on the big issues to be discussed.

Branches & Batches is a local flower farm located in Highland. A portion of all their sales go towards Louie’s HUWE1, a non profit dedicated to raising awareness, supporting families and driving research into HUWE1-related genetic conditions.
They grow flowers from April through October and sell them a la carte, offer subscriptions, and will even do events. Learn more here.

Play Street Museum in Columbia Opens
Play Street Museum, located in Columbia off Stanford Blvd. in the same plaza as Pub Dog, is a fun children’s “museum” for children up to 8 years old and they opened up this past week. They have a variety of playable environments and sensory play areas.

OEC St. Patrick’s Day Celebration 3/15 🍀
On Saturday, head up to Old Ellicott City for a St. Patrick’s Day Celebration from noon until 3 pm. Look for the Lucky Leprechaun roaming the streets, head to the Welcome Center to meet Irish Wolfhounds, and enter the Lucky Duck Raffle.
St. Paddy’s Day Celebration @ Manor Hill Brewing 3/15 🍺
From noon until 7pm, Manor Hill Brewing will be having a St. Paddy’s Celebration all afternoon that includes a new releases with McClintock Distilling Co. There will be live music from Brandon Kennedy, their pizza trolley, and Mr. Soft’s ice cream truck. Full details.
